Remarks
1. When copper steel is specified, minimum Cu shall be 0.20%.
2. For each reduction of 0.01% below the specified carbon maximum, an increase of 0.06% manganese above the specified maximum will be permitted up to the maximum of 1.35%.
3. For plates wider than 24 in.(600mm), the elongation requirement is reduced two percentage points.
4. For nominal thickness under 5/16 in.(8mm), the deduction from the specified percentage of elongation in
8 in.(200mm) shall be made for decreases of the nominal thickness below 5/16 in.(8mm). See elongation requirement adjustments under the Tension Tests Section of Specification A6 for deduction values.
